The Calvert SECAC is recruiting members for the 2018-19 school year.  Parents and community members are critically needed for this newly reorganized group which works with the Department of Special Education to make recommendations for improving service delivery.  We are looking for additional members who may be parents/caregivers, special and general education staff, representatives of disability and advocacy groups, community members, and individuals with disabilities.  Meetings are once a month with the exception of May, June, July, and December.

MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the Calvert County Special Education Citizens' Advisory Committee (Calvert SECAC) is to facilitate communication and collaboration between parents and families, community partners, service providers, educators, and administrators in order to enhance services available for students with special needs and advocate for positive changes in Special Education services within the Calvert County Public School System and its community.
